Dear Corpus Christians,

On June 15th there was a large fire aboard the Floridian Star while tied to the dock. This did not happen during business hours. One person was onboard and was able to safely evacuate the vessel in time, and the CC Fire Department was able to respond very quickly and effectively to control the blaze. Many thanks to the FD for their expedient arrival which certainly prevented this fire from causing further damage.

Unfortunately, the Floridian Star has been badly damaged and will be out of commission for the foreseeable future. Investigations are under way, and when they are complete we should be able to develop a clear picture of what caused this. In the meantime, we extend our gratitude to CCFD, the City Marina staff, the US Coast Guard and a host of others who came to our aid.

Thanks to everyone who shared our excitement for this new way to enjoy Corpus Christi. The Floridian Star represented a new level of quality and exotic fun not yet found here at our beloved Coastal Bend. Though the damage is extensive, don’t worry – we’ll be back stronger than ever. Corpus Christi deserves this, and we, just like our Sparkling City, will always bounce back.

Sincerely,
Floridian Star Cruises
